1. Title & Hook
- Celestial Power: The War of the Chosen
- Tagline: The Ancients feared it. The Gods fought to claim it. Eons have only made it stronger. Now, it has chosen you.
2. Concept Summary
Celestial Power is a narrative-driven action RPG where players wield a lost celestial force, navigate the remnants of a forgotten interstellar war, and decide the fate of a power beyond comprehension.
Blending science fiction, mythology, and philosophical themes, this project explores:
- Power & Responsibility – Can one make choices for the whole? What if the choices are embedded in our cultural, spiritual and social heritage?
- Sovereignty & Free Will – How sovereign are we truly when forces unknown to us shift our perception of reality?
- The Nature of the Divine – Is divinity birthright, attained, or stolen?
With fast-paced combat, a world that bleeds in our own, and deep worldbuilding, Celestial Power was designed as a game, but also an exploration of storytelling, interactivity, and thematic depth.
3. Lore intro
Before the Earth became hospitable for life, the Alkarevs, an ancient forerunner race living on a distant planet, discovered a power beyond power — the Aetherionian Pneuma (“The Divine Breath of the Celestial Quintessence”), a cell of the source of life itself, in the core of their planet.
The Alkarevs studied the Entity and ultimately gained the ability to harness its power.
For centuries, the Alkarevs lived a golden age of prosperity and bounty, until the Entity gained sentience from interacting with the highly intelligent race.
Initially, the Alkarevs formed an alliance – a pact – with this being, where an Alkarev host would act as the vessel of the Entity, merging symbiotically with it. But as the host became more powerful, the Alkarevs grew uneasy at the consequences of the host turning rogue.
In their mounting dread, the Alkarevs forced the host unto an exodus, under the pretext of expanding their civilization across the galaxy, ultimately exiling him to a remote sector of the galaxy and sealing him within the core of a distant world—one that would come to be known to us as Earth.
Through millions of years, the seal slowly eroded, until the latent signature of the Entity began to be detected by newly ascendant alien civilizations. Drawn to the immense power buried within Earth and enthralled by the ancient Alkarevarian prophecies scattered across the galaxy, rival factions ignited a war spanning millennia in pursuit of the Entity’s dominion.
As the war neared its crescendo, the long-thought-extinct Alkarevs reemerged with overwhelming force, shattering the war and imposing a decree: the fate of the Entity would no longer be fought over, but entrusted to Earth's future inheritors. Each faction was permitted to dispatch an emissary, tasked with observing the rise of human civilization and serving as its interstellar liaison. Yet, concealed from the watchful eyes of the Alkarevs, these emissaries defied the accord, embedding themselves within human societies and assuming the mantles of gods across pantheons.
Fast forward to the Age of Humanity—a young man, heir to a long and secret lineage of sanctum guardians, comes into contact with the Entity, shatters its seal, and becomes its new host.
And so begins the tale of Celestial Power—an action-RPG where themes of power, responsibility, sovereignty, transplanetary ecology, and the nature of divinity collide in a struggle that will shape the fate of existence itself.
4. Gameplay
Celestial Power was designed as an action RPG that balances:
✔ Fast, fluid combat → A hybrid of Darksiders & Hyper Light Drifter ✔ Exploration-driven world design → Inspired by Zelda and Metroidvania structures. ✔ Interwoven storytelling → A mix of Mass Effect’s narrative depth & Soulsborne’s environmental storytelling. ✔ Faction-driven conflicts → A war fought across ancient civilizations, rogue entities, and human mythology.
The Combat System: Fluid, Adaptive, and Mythic
The protagonist wields the Aetherionian Pneuma, granting:
🔹 Celestial Weaponry – Manifest weapons from pure energy. The protagonist transforms in a being of pure energy, at the cost of his own lifespan (think Metroid Prime 3 Corruption’s PED suit). 🔹 Symbiotic Transformations – Absorb enemy traits & evolve new combat styles. 🔹 Aetherial Tuning – Attune to different celestial states to shift strengths & weaknesses. 🔹 Arsenal of weaponry – In his human form, the protagonist can use the weaponry of the four factions – Humanity, Alkarevs, Kraints, Sparrs, as he encounters them.
5. The World: A Hidden Past, An Uncertain Future
🔹 Interconnected Environments – Zelda-style dungeons and explorable, lore-rich locations. 🔹 Remnants of Forgotten Civilizations – Players uncover the ruins of ancient interstellar conflicts. 🔹 Waypoints & Fast Travel – A map with disconnected locations spanning across the Earth, up to the firmament, and down in the bowels of the Earth
5.1. The War for the Entity
Four factions vie for control of the Aetherionian Pneuma:
🔹 The Alkarevs – The race that first wielded, then abandoned, the Entity. Now, they return to finish what they started. 🔹 The Kraints – A parasitic species, believing the Entity is the key to infinite power and dominion. 🔹 The Sparrs – A cult-like hivemind parasiting humanity with false visions of divinity to assert control, aiming to harness the Entity to achieve true godhood. 🔹 Humanity: Current wielder of the Entity, humanity is a divided civilization with secret alliances and competing agendas. Some seek the Entity’s power, others fear it, and many are already pawns of alien forces.
6. Themes
Celestial Power is not just an action RPG—it’s an exploration of themes that bridge narrative, design, and interactivity:
🔹 Power & Control – The protagonist must decide: does power corrupt? Or does it reveal truth? 🔹 The Role of Myth – The gods of legend are not what they seem—but does that make them any less real? What constitutes God? 🔹 Moral Ambiguity – There is no singular truth. Each faction believes their cause is justified. 🔹 Transplanetary Ecology – How do civilizations shape and reshape their environments across time?
Through gameplay, narrative, and world design, Celestial Power encourages philosophical engagement while delivering an immersive, high-stakes experience.
7. Visual & Narrative Inspirations
The project draws from a blend of:
🔹Epic sci-fi storytelling → Mass Effect, Dune 🔹Combat & gameplay fluidity → Darksiders, Hyper Light Drifter, Hades 🔹Philosophical depth → Existentialism, Solipsism, Computational universe, Dasein, Dao and more. 🔹Environmental storytelling → Dark Souls, Metroid Prime (logs)
Each of these influences shaped the narrative depth, worldbuilding, and mechanics of Celestial Power.
